Description
The book introduces critical psychology, an approach that questions the assumptions of mainstream psychology. Instead of looking only at individuals and their behaviour, critical psychology asks how society, culture, power, inequality, politics, and institutions influence people’s experiences and psychological well-being.
The central idea is that psychology is not completely neutral or separate from society. Psychological theories and practices can reflect existing social values and power structures, but psychology can also be used to challenge oppression and inequality and promote social justice and human well-being.
